I’m a Senior Backend Engineer and Developer Consultant at Thoughtworks, with a background in building backend systems and products across both startups and larger engineering teams.

I started my career working in early-stage startups, where I often had to work across the entire product lifecycle, from understanding requirements and designing systems to building, deploying, and maintaining them. Working in small teams taught me to think beyond individual features and focus on how systems behave as they grow.

Today, my primary engineering stack includes Node.js, TypeScript, Golang, PostgreSQL, AWS, Redis, and distributed systems technologies.

What I’m interested in

I’m particularly interested in understanding what happens when software systems become large, distributed, and difficult to reason about.

I’m currently going deeper into:

• Distributed systems
• Databases and storage engines
• Distributed transactions
• Replication and consistency
• Consensus and fault tolerance
• System design and architecture
• Agentic AI systems

Rather than learning these topics purely from books and system design interviews, I’m trying to understand them by building systems, deliberately breaking them, measuring what happens, and documenting what I learn.

I’m also experimenting with documenting these projects through video, where I can show the systems being built and, more importantly, what happens when I try to break them.

The goal isn’t to present myself as someone who already knows everything. It’s to build a deeper understanding through deliberate practice and share the process along the way.

Beyond code

I’m interested in understanding systems at different levels, from the internals of a database to the architecture of a large distributed application.

I’m also interested in how AI is changing the way software is built, particularly the engineering challenges involved in building reliable agentic systems.
